You can select the tracks you want to extract and then press one button and all selected files will be extracted. This way is the most common and easiest way to extract files with Rosoft CD Extractor.
You can play tracks with Rosoft CD Extractor even if you don't have a cable between your CD-ROM/CD-RW/DVD and your sound card. However you do need a sound card. The advantage of playing tracks from an Audio CD this way is that you use most of the time use a better Digital Analog (DA) converter. The DA Converter that comes with the standard CD-ROM/CD-RW/DVD isn't generally that good. If you have a high quality sound card it is highly recommended to play CDs with a program that reads CDDA and use the sound card for DA converting. But if you are using low quality speakers or low quality head phones you probably don't here the difference at all.
How to play tracks
NOTE: These options can't be used when you extract tracks. Extraction is always done without any filter.
The filters include in Rosoft CD Extractor are implemented as software filters, that is, you don't need to have a Digital Sound Processor (DSP) installed on your sound board. The filters are inside the program and every calculation is made before the digital audio data is send to the sound board. The filters installed are:
Volume
This filter only increase and decrease the volume.
Equalizer
A filter you use to set how high each frequency should be. The lower frequencies are at the left and the higher frequencies are at the right. As a normal equalizer on your home stereo.
Half Speed
This filter is a special type of filter that many
musicians like. When you use this filter you play the tracks in half speed without changing the pitch shift (key). This filter is perfect to transcribe fast played music and for lyrics. As a musician my self I use this filter a lot when I transcribe fast played guitar solos and write down lyrics. The Half Speed can't be used at the used at the same time as Pitch.
Pitch
This function changes the pitch (key) of the track you play. Think of this function as if you played a tape recorder or a record player at a faster or lower speed. This filter is also useful for musicians. It is perfect if you practice to a track and you don't want to re tune your instrument. The Pitch can't be used at the used at the same time as Half Speed.
